About

Short autobiography, info about this website.

About me

A working student living in Vancouver, BC, studying software engineering and fixing computers for money. Lifelong hobbyist programmer, with a particular interest in embedded devices and operating systems. Also a big fan of old and/or strange video games. I have non-computer hobbies too, I promise.

I love music; I can appreciate and enjoy just about every genre of music out there, but mostly gravitate towards industrial, experimental, and post-rock music these days. I collect music in just about any format I can get my hands on, and I'm always eager to share. Don't ask me about an artist I like without blocking out some time for an info-dump response. There's something like 200 LPs in my collection, but I still firmly consider myself a vinyl hater — I really wish that most of them were CDs.

Some other hobbies and interests of mine include (but are not limited to) hiking, short camping trips, vandalising advertisements, cooking, philosophy, economics, hating on stuff, and aimlessly wandering through urban areas.

About this website

This website is something between a calling card and a greatest hits album; it's got contact info and some stuff I think is worth showing off. It was at one point hosted on a cheap VPS that also ran a few game servers at mxsd.ca; it is now on Nekoweb.

The font used on this website is Liberation Mono by Steve Matteson, and the background image is a photograph by David Carson used as artwork for The Fragile by Nine Inch Nails.

All original media on this website, unless otherwise noted, is licensed under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 License. The terms of this licence, it is worth noting, quite explicitly forbid using or remixing its subject for commercial use, and also quite explicitly requires any derivatives of said subject to credit its creator (me).

The upshot of this is that, in regards to LLM and so-called "AI" training, You may use the original media on this site for training, provided that the model, in its totality, is compliant with the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence. This explicitly includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that the model's source code and entirety of its training data is licenced under a compatible licence, and explicitly forbids monetizing access to or use of the model in any way, shape, or form. If you can't make that work, then tough shit. I will enforce these terms should the occasion arise.
